To further clarify the recreational sports through Livingston Parish Recreation District #2 (LPRD2) better known as the "Rec Board," to some. The "Rec Board" is made up of seven commissioners who have been appointed by the District #2 Councilman to oversee the operation and maintenance of the Live Oak Sports Complex (LOSC) or what some refer to as "The Live Oak Ball Park." We have renamed our Recreational Sports Division as Live Oak Sports. In the past the recreational sports in Watson was managed by LOSA. Since LOSA has dissolved, we the LPRD2 Commissioners decided to take over the management of the recreational sports that LOSA had managed, with the exception of tackle football, which is managed by the Live Oak Youth Football Association. The LPRD2 commissioners actually began managing the sports about 2 and half years ago. In the future, all sports supported by LPRD2 will be under this title (Live Oak Sports).
Live Oak Sports is the organization that manages recreational sports and has been chosen through community interest and voted on by the LPRD2 Commissioners, including Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football, Kickball, etc. The day to day management fo LOSC and Live Oak Sports is handled by Mike Hansen, our Park and Live Oak Sports Director.
We the commissioners of Livingston Parish Recreation District #2 (LPRD2) shall strive to develop and maintain a quality recreational park, and to provide recreational sports and activities which will enhance the quality of life as well as the physical, social , and emotional well-being of the citizens of Watson.
To learn more about LPRD2, we invite the public to attend our meetings held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7PM at the Watson community center located across the street from the old Live Oak High School..
Thank You For Your Support,
Commissioners fo LPRD2
